Ethan Collier, President and CEO of Collier Construction

At Collier, we believe that the economic health and well-being of the homeowner, the community, and the environment are essential to the quality of every project. This belief shapes our philosophy, our mission, our methods, our goals, and the relationships we build throughout every project.

At just 21 years old, I started my own construction company doing odd jobs and hanging screen doors. Today, Collier Construction stands for quality workmanship and environmental stewardship across the Tennessee Valley. We have sold more than $100 million in custom homes and light commercial. Our commercial building experience includes small hotels, a football stadium, churches, schools and restaurants.

Born of a conviction that smart development done responsibly has the power to shape our urban landscape for the better, we launched FIELD in 2014. FIELD is the community development arm of Collier Construction. Inspired by Traditional Neighborhood Design (TND) principles, FIELD seeks to re-imagine how communities are built in Chattanooga by echoing Collier Construction’s longstanding commitment to environmental sensitivity and social responsibility.

The experience we’ve gained in community building through Collier’s FIELD projects have created the framework and the opportunity to work with public and partners to realize the Mill Town project—and the development portfolio to responsibly lead this unique public/private partnership as a for-profit developer.
